Italy: Trento Court of Appeal rules that names of both same sex partners should be listed on birth certificate of child born through surrogacy

As reported by Jurist, on 1 March 2017, the Court of Appeal in Trento (Italy) ruled that the names of both same-sex partners should be listed on their child’s birth certificate, even though only one person is the biological father. According to the Court of Appeal, even though the child was born through surrogacy, both parents create a familial unit and should have equal rights to the child
